Testimonials
Academic Lead - University of Portsmouth
Charlie Watts
Michaela’s profile states First Class BA Film Production, and I cannot stipulate enough on how true this is. As a tutor of hundreds of students it should go without saying that lecturers are always proud of all the students that achieve great things with us, but I must single out Michaela as being one of the most impressive students I’ve come across in years.
Not only is she genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, but I cannot remember a time when a student was so keen to take on multiple projects, but also finish them all to such a high standards.
Michaela is a great editor, she has great project management skills and is highly professional. We are going to miss her hugely here at the University of Portsmouth, and to whoever hires her, please know that you are doing a very wise and clever thing.

We could not have been more pleased with the service we received on our wedding day. Michaela arrived well in front of time to organise herself and went about creating the images she wanted to achieve with very little intrusion into the proceedings. During the ceremony I hardly noticed she was there but the beautiful pictures she produced confirmed that she definitely had been .
Outside the wedding venue Michaela created really beautiful natural pictures alongside some more posed shots. Again she was unobtrusive while all the time looking for good photo opportunities as they presented themselves. Within 24 hours we had received the link with all the photos of our wonderful day.
We were very happy indeed with the results. Friends and family also made very favourable comments about the quality of the pictures. We would have no hesitation recommending Michaela and we were very grateful to her for the impressive contribution she made to our wedding day.
Head of Marketing & Communications - Mind Over Mountains
Helen Wooldridge
Michaela helped our mental health charity Mind Over Mountains with the creation of a short video about our work, using her editing skills to bring together a blend of clips, images and sound.
Michaela was amazing to work with - proactive, an excellent communicator, and with a real ‘can do’ attitude. She made creative suggestions which were extremely valuable, and she showed clear and thoughtful understanding of our brief, our constraints, and our core purpose. Talking, emailing and messaging with Michaela was clear and enjoyable - she was helpful at all times and responded promptly and positively.
We were delighted with the output she created for us for a national film tour opportunity where we had the chance to promote our work, and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her.

Michaela worked on several videography and production projects for New Theatre Royal Portsmouth. During her time working for the theatre Michaela demonstrated exceptional skills and a strong work ethic. The work produced was always of excellent and professional quality and this significantly contributed to the content bank for the theatre's marketing efforts. The technical ability demonstrated was excellent as was the initiative to adapt to the project.

As well as the outstanding technical abilities demonstrated, Michaela always had a positive attitude and was always willing to give up her time for a new project.

Creative Manager - The Walt Disney Company, National Geographic
Helen Morgan-Geary
Michaela has set the bar very high, will be greatly missed and incredibly hard to replace. Having grown leaps and bounds in her confidence to produce great creative assets across our social platforms and on-air channel, she has absolutely brought her best.

She possesses a very strong work ethic and has contributed so much to the team at National Geographic, it's hard to imagine a team without her. A dedicated, valued and reliable pair of hands, to such a degree, other teams members were directed to her to check over assets they created to ensure they were to the standard required.

Michaela doesn't hesitate to help a colleague, ranging from being stuck at reception to navigating the inevitable challenges that arise. She has incredible teamwork and support of her colleagues.

Michaela was amazing from start to finish. We asked her to take some engagement shots prior to our wedding and she came with some really creative ideas that have captured our engagement beautifully!

This was followed by Michaela pulling out all of the stops for my wedding day. She made me, and all of the guests, feel at ease and captured magical moments that I will treasure forever. What's more is our timings completely overran and Michaela stuck it out and got those last few shots.

Words cannot express how wonderfully she captured our day. We will be forever grateful for having her be a part of our day and I honestly couldn't recommend her enough!
Service & Funding Manager - Headway Portsmouth & SE Hampshire
Jo Dallas
I reached out to Portsmouth University to see if they had any students that would be willing to volunteer to make a video for our charity Headway and Michaela Kenny and Jamie Nash put themselves forward, spending time with the group to create a video to help us raise awareness of the charity and people with an acquired brain injury.

They were professional at all times and worked efficiently, clearly understanding what was required, and got on with the filming discretely, being sensitive to our service users' needs. They worked well together, completing the project with minimal fuss and produced a great video for us that showed exactly what we wanted.

They were happy to listen to any feedback and prepared to make changed where necessary. They were a pleasure to work with and I would certainly recommend them for similar projects.
Programme Administrator - The Literacy Hub
Elliot Sergejew
I am the Programme Administrator for The Literacy Hub and worked with Michaela last year. We had been filming short films with our children for their latest project and desperately needed some editors. We reached out to the university and they provided us with some student details.

We had the mammoth task of editing 30 short films and showing them at a screening in the No6 cinema. After being let down by some students, we had a very tight timeline to edit the remaining 15 films and it seemed like we were going to have to delay.

Luckily, Michaela's details were passed to us and she edited the bulk of the films to a quality beyond what we expected. Her communication and speed with the task was very professional and allowed us to finish the project on time. We highly recommend Michaela.
Head of Vocal - Walsall Arena and Arts Centre
James Maddison
I had the pleasure of working with Michaela in around 2019 when she joined Walsall Youth Choir. I remember being really impressed by how quickly she became an integral part of our group. Not only did Michaela become a friend to all, she also emerged as one of the most dependable members of the choir. Her confident and warm demeanour proved remarkable.

As we, like many choirs, resorted to isolated recordings and collaborative performance compilation, Michaela went beyond my expectations and assumed a pivotal role in the choir's operations. In addition to fulfilling her own recording obligations, Michaela voluntarily undertook the task of editing and producing videos for the choir. It was during this phase that her remarkable proficiency in visual editing emerged.

I am unreservedly confident in endorsing Michaela. Having been both her former teacher and collaborator, I take immense pride in her accomplishments and I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who has the opportunity to collaborate with her.
