Content Ambassador (06/24) - University of Portsmouth
Within this role, I created videos for the University of Portsmouth's social media channels. As a content ambassador, some of my responsibilities included:
- Researching social media trends and keeping up to date with trending topics and music.
- Using planning websites, such as Trello, to allocate video topics and platforms.
- Creating at least 1 YouTube video, 1 TikTok video, and 1 blog post a week.
- Answering comments and questions from prospective students.
Wedding Photographer (05/24) - Netta & Mark
Within this role, I was responsible for capturing the emotion and heart of the couple's wedding reception, documenting the ceremony through photography to preserve memories; some of my responsibilities included:
- Coordinating with the couple before, and during, the wedding to understand their vision and ensure desired shots are captured.
- Capturing a balance of candid shots, particularly during the ceremony, and orchestrating and organising posed photos
- Scouting the location beforehand to assess lighting, setups, and overall aesthetic.
- Editing and enhancing the photos in post-production, using Adobe Photoshop.
Wedding Photographer (03/24) - Sarah & Neil
Within this role, I captured the key moments of the couple's special day, ensuring that every significant event, from the ceremony to candid interactions, was beautifully documented; some of my responsibilities included:
- Preparing equipment to ensure everything is in check, including backups, lenses, cameras, and memory cards.
- Effectively managing my time to ensure the day stayed on track according to the wedding schedule and that all aspects were captured efficiently.
- Directing group photos to ensure subjects were positioned, posed and styled to look their best.
- Offering creative direction and providing input for unique, creative and memorable shots throughout the day.
Freelance Creative (02/24) - Portsmouth Creates
Within this role, I photographed key moments of the event, as well as helping shoot content for social media, highlights reels, and vox pops from key attendees; some of my responsibilities included:
- Capturing footage and photographs that would aid in telling the pre-planned narrative direction of the videos
- Coordinating with the event planners to highlight key attendees and organise vox pops with them, coming up with questions that would aid the narrative.
- Utilising professional cameras and sound equipment to capture high quality footage and photos.
- Editing social media content including vox pops and highlight reels, using Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
Freelance Editor (01/24) - Mind Over Mountains
Within this role, I edited footage from the company's events/programmes into a compelling and engaging narrative for social media, websites, and conventions/events; some of my responsibilities included:
- Reviewing and consolidating footage from various events into a video that effectively communicated the company's values and aims.
- Colour correcting the footage to ensure it seamlessly transitions into each other and matches in tone and colour.
- Choosing music and creating a soundscape to enhance the visuals.
- Editing content in various formats for different social media platforms and utilising technical knowledge for screening versions.
Freelance Creative (10/23) - New Theatre Royal
Within this role, I completed various projects, filming, recording sound, photographing events, and editing videos for social media and websites; some of my responsibilities included:
- Working with the DOP to capture the necessary footage required for the narrative, as well as acting as first AC on set
- Communicating with the client on a variety of projects to align the vision and collaborate on creative ideas for the projects.
- Directing interviews with participants and tailoring questions and speech to suit a range of ages from young children to older generations.
- Editing content in various formats for different social media platforms, as well as subtitling, creating graphics, and adhering to their own brand guidelines.
Wedding Photographer (08/23) - Kat & Jamie
Within this role, I captured the precious moments and emotions of the couple and their friends and family on
their wedding day. I worked independently to document the event; some of my responsibilities included:
- Engaging in pre-event planning to ensure the expectations were set and the schedule for photography was agreed upon.
- Using a keen eye for detail to capture the spontaneous moments and create lasting memories.
- Having strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with the client and ensure a smooth and enjoyable photography experience.
- Using Adobe Photoshop to enhance the images and deliver high-quality photos to the client.
Freelance Editor (06/23) - UoP Student Union
Within this role, I edited a total of 16 videos for the University of Portsmouth's student union: International Students Top Tips. As the editor, some of my responsibilities included:
- Communicating with the client to establish an artistic direction and gather the materials from the shoot.
- Creating graphics, using Adobe After Effects, in both a 16x9 and 9x16 format to aid the interviews.
- Sequencing shots to create a cohesive narrative.
- Colour grading shots, using Adobe Premiere Pro, to enhance the visuals of the interviews.
Wedding Photographer (10/22) - Lauren & Stuart
Within this role, I photographed the wedding of Lauren and Stuart Houlder-Jarvis. As the wedding photographer, some of my responsibilities included:
- Communicating with the client to establish an artistic direction and gather information on the wedding.
- Coordinating around 100 people to ensure all the required shots were taken efficiently.
- Capturing spontaneous moments throughout the day.
- Enhancing the photos, using Adobe Photoshop, in the subsequent days after the wedding.
Creative Intern (06/22) - Walt Disney Company
I completed a year's internship between my second and third year of university as a creative intern in the National Geographic department of Disney. As a creative intern, some of my responsibilities included:
- Creating over 200 assets for the National Geographic social media channels, using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Liaising with audio engineers and graphic designers to create linear promos that adhered to
brand and broadcast guidelines.
- Directing voiceover artists when creating linear promos and continuity recordings.
- Communicating with the marketing department to ensure briefs were fulfilled and feedback
was undertaken.
Freelance Photographer (08/21) - Lauren & Stuart
Within this role, I photographed some engagement photos for Lauren and Stuart Houlder-Jarvis. As their engagement photographer, some of my responsibilities included:
- Bringing creative and fun ideas to the table - incorporating the couple's Pinterest board into my ideas.
- Liaising with the couple to arrange the shoot, location, and other important details of the day.
- Composing posed shots, as well as capturing spontaneous photos.
- Enhancing the photos using Adobe Photoshop to create the finished look.
Freelance Editor (12/19) - Harmonic Voice
Within this role, I edited videos for a choir from the Walsall Arena and Arts Centre, Harmonic Voice. As a video editor, some of my responsibilities included:
- Collating performances from each member of the choir into a coherent video.
- Syncing audio and video clips from mimed performances.
- Ensuring audio levels were appropriate for social media.
- Collaborating with graphic designers to incorporate their designs into the videos.
Freelance Videographer/Editor (07/19) - Walsall Arena and Arts Centre
Within this role, I filmed, photographed, and edited a concert at Walsall Arena and Arts Centre for some up-and-coming young performers. Some of my responsibilities included:
- Photographing each band/performer during rehearsals and the concert.
- Filming the concert using a multi-camera set up.
- Editing the footage, using Adobe Premiere Pro, into a highlight reel of the event, as well as individual performances for each band.
- Enhancing the photographs of each band/performer using Adobe Photoshop.
